Voter ID Restrictions Suppress 200,000 Votes in Wisconsin

On occasion, we hear people say that voter suppression effects are minor and immaterial to elections. Well, think again! It is estimated that up to 200,000 votes may have been suppressed in the election of 2016 in Wisconsin. And, yes, those votes were mostly people of color and Democrats. Hilary Clinton lost Wisconsin by 22,177 votes! And, such laws are not an accident — they are part of the voter suppression machinery that Republicans use in every jurisdiction that they control.
